So I only have a few days left before I take off and (true to form) I’ve started about thirty lists of things to do / get / pack before I go. There’s lists of clothes. Lists of books. Lists of cords and adaptors and other gizmos. Lists of paperwork…

But what about the list of things that I’m leaving behind?

So here it goes… a list of things that won’t be going to the Netherlands:

24 hour-a-day coverage of the presidential election (11 months before the actual election)
Up to the minute info on Britney Spears’ mental health… alas
Rock of Love 2 … the only thing better than breaking celebrity gossip is watching b-list celebrities find true love on a “reality” tv show
Mercury infested tuna.
And finally…the thousand dollars that i spent to get to the Netherlands in the first place… thanks Lufhansa

‘Once Upon a Time’ that’s how all good stories start.

Hi Everyone! I created a blog to record my semester studying at University College Maastricht in the Netherlands. The countdown is officially one. T-minus 9 days. Much to do before I leave… packing (always a challenge for me), paperwork (fun fun), and of course goodbyes to friends and family.

I’m teetering back and forth between apprehension and excitement. There are a lot of unknowns… But I’m trying hard to accept and not expect. I’ll let you know how that one goes….

I’ve never used a blog before but I figured that it would be a good outlet for me. A way for my friends and family to keep tabs on me. And a way to share my experiences with other students. Who knows what will find it’s way onto this blog… photos? social commentary? political musings?

Feel free to comment or ask questions. I’m hoping that this will be a two-way exchange!!! I’m excited to share my experiences with you!!!
